Job Description

Key responsibilities of a receptionist:
  • Greeting visitors:
    Professionally welcoming guests upon arrival, verifying appointments, and directing them to the correct person or department. 
     
  • Answering phone calls:
    Promptly answering incoming calls, taking messages, transferring calls to appropriate personnel, and managing the phone system. 
     
  • Appointment scheduling:
    Coordinating meeting schedules, booking conference rooms, and managing appointment calendars. 
     
  • Mail and package handling:
    Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages to relevant employees. 
     
  • Reception area maintenance:
    Keeping the front desk area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies. 
     
  • Administrative tasks:
    Performing basic clerical duties such as copying, faxing, filing, and data entry. 
     
  • Customer service:
    Addressing inquiries from visitors and employees, providing information about the company, and resolving basic issues. 
     
  • Office support:
    Assisting with office tasks like maintaining office supplies, coordinating deliveries, and managing visitor logs.
